The Return of The LEDGEND
The Classic car lovers will jumps into joy as a LEGENDARY car maker

The Hispano Suiza was however given that space frame with carbon fiber and the V10 has been accompanied by a supercharger. The result is an output of 750 hp and a maximum torque of 700 Nm.

This power goes through a hand-speed gearbox to all four wheels; a six-speed automatic with steering wheel paddles is an option. The sprint to 100 kilometer per hour takes 3.4 seconds and top speed is above 330 km / h. Alloy wheels with a diameter of 22 inches are standard equipment, like ceramic brake discs. Hispano Suiza HS-21

Hispano Suiza HS-21 by jarapet.

At the 2000 International Motor Show of Geneva,
you were surprised with the rebirth of the legendary Hispano-Suiza.
Mazel, an engineering-company from Spain, presented the HS21, a prototype of a supersportscar, powered by a BMW-engine.

One of the most important design-elements is the "nostalgic" radiator-grill.

But the car shows also several other similarities with another revival car,
the Bugatti prototypes18/3, or 18/4, which was changed into the
16/4 Veyron concept car.

Mazel has also an agency at Wolfsburg,
Germany, the home of Volkswagen, and Volkswagen will produce the Bugatti. A coincidence?

In 2001, Mazel showed the K8, a luxury sedan.
2002, they presented, again, a sportscar, the HS21-GTS.
And in 2004, I was surprised to see a repainted HS21 at the Geneva Motor Show, again.

Mercedes Geneva press report

Mercedes has the major Geneva-news ten days ago announced it seeps at some press day by always some small news. Thus, the brand has the C 220 CDI and E 250 CDI made a good deal more economical.
The C 220 CDI now consumes an average of 4.8 liters diesel per 100 kilometer.
It seems a little improvement but CO2 emissions drop despite everything from 127 to 119 grams per kilometer.
If you as a manufacturer with such a volume model that brings about good.

The E 250 CDI diesel goes from 5.8 liters to 4.9 liters per 100 kilometer. i.e. from 154 to 129 grams per kilometer.
The 2.1 four cylinder twin turbo diesel has a lighter crankshaft, an improved oil pressure system and there is a start-stop system on.
The C 220 CDI develops 170 Horsepower, the E 250 CDI has the same engine but with 204 Horsepower.
The big news is obviously the Salon Style F800 concept.

Hummer's Production is closed

Hummer's End Is here
Is H-U-M-M-E-R a History Now...!!???

February 25, 2010 from WBEZ
As-Soon-As last-minute buyer shows up, peoples eyes get wet as it's likely the General Motor’s most passionate and iconic brand H-U-M-M-E-R will become a thing of the history.
When its deal with a Chinese company collapsed, GM announced Wednesday (FEB. 24. 2010) that it will no longer produce Hummers.
The northern Indiana town of Mishawaka houses one of two plants where Hummers are made. Hummer's H2 was produced in Indiana not by GM, but by a company called AM General. The other plant is a GM facility based in Shreveport, La., which suspended production of the Hummer H3 and H3T last month.
When sales of the Hummer — a gas-guzzling vehicle — plummeted a few years ago, production suffered and no H2s have rolled off the assembly line for a year

Staying Afloat With Federal And Military Business
Instead, AM General's 1,500 workers continuing building other vehicles for the military and federal government, and that keeps the massive plant going.
Jay Wiand retired from this plant a few years ago after working on the assembly line for 30 years, making everything from mail trucks to Hummers. But he's not particularly optimistic about the plant's future.
"Oh yeah, there will be people getting laid off," Wiand says. "There's no doubt about that."
A huge framed aerial photo of the plant sits outside of Mayor Jeffrey Rea's City Hall office in Mishawaka.
He served as the city's economic
Development director when GM brought Hummer to AM General eight years ago.
Local Impact
The importance of the Hummer brand in Mishawaka and the region certainly isn't lost on him.
"This is one of our largest employers, one of our largest taxpayers, one of our largest utility customers," Rea says. "So certainly what happens out there has an impact on our community, and we're all watching very closely.
Rea says even if the deal with the Chinese buyer had gone through, there was no guarantee the H2 would continue to be built in Mishawaka. But he says since the plant is still relatively new, other businesses may want to take advantage of its workforce.
AM General is set to begin manufacturing a handicap accessible taxicab that will keep this plant humming for a little while longer.
"This is a great workforce. They build things, they build them well," Rea says. "We think it's certainly a viable opportunity potentially for other car manufactures to want to do something here."
Deep Roots
The roots of car manufacturing run deep in northern Indiana. Studebaker called neighboring South Bend home for more than 100 years.
When the plant closed down in 1963, AM General moved into some of Studebaker's old facilities to build its own vehicles.
Studebaker's closure forced South Bend to look to other areas for economic development, like retail and the sprawling University of Notre Dame.
But some say the area still hasn't fully recovered from the loss of Studebaker nearly a half-century ago.
The Road To Recovery?
Mishawaka resident Corey Jensen isn't sure just how quickly his city will recover if no more Hummers are made.
"It's terrible for the economy; it hurts everything," Jensen says. "Middle-class people make the world go round, and when you take away middle-class workers, the world falls apart like it has."
The Army recently announced that this may be the last year it uses the Humvee — the military model the H2 was based on
GM says it will entertain any viable offer for Hummer even as the company winds down operations.
Meanwhile, workers in Indiana will continue to build whatever vehicles come down the assembly line as they hope for another potential buyer for GM's Hummer brand
